Everyone will suggest the ASUS mobo. Both are good brands and I have used both and would use both again.

I like EVGA's customer support as you can get a live person on the phone within minutes and they will walk you through any issues you may have. Their customer support is second to none. ;)

Depends on what you're looking for. I would personally go for the EVGA E760 Classified. With the Asus P6T Deluxe, you're looking at a 3.8 GHz - 4.0 GHz stable 24/7 overclock. With the EVGA E760 Classified, you're looking at a 4.2 GHz - 4.4 GHz stable 24/7 overclock. However, the EVGA E760 Classified is $130 more expensive and it's an E-ATX board, not an ATX.

------------------------------ Win 7 x64 | ASRock M3A780GXH/128M | Phenom II x720 BE 3.7GHz at 1.525V | 45C Idle - 61C Max | 4GB Crucial DDR3 1333 RAM at 1600 w/8-7-7-18 timings | GTS 250 512MB OC'd | $470 Total price of entire system.

Where did you get this info from?

Just look in the forums for the motherboards:
EVGA, most people are overclocking to at least 4.2 GHz, but higher than 4.4 GHz, it's not usually stable in 24/7 scenarios.

Asus, generally, not many are getting past the 3.8 GHz mark, but with Turbomode, 4.0 GHz can be reached.

Yea but you are going by individual reviews... I have seen both x58 boards do over 4.4Ghz on Air prime stable.

The OP should be fine with either.... Not everyone buys the an X58 board to break a record....

I don't know anyone who runs their PC at those clocks 24/7... For a suicide screenie or some minor benchmarking maybe... But after 4.3Ghz you are basically wasting your time since you wont see a difference in performance for common daily tasks....

I've seen the P6t WS do an overclock over 4.4 GHz, but not the P6t Deluxe. Some people are running stable 4.2 GHz - 4.4 GHz on H20 for 24/7 tasks, but on air, I'd doubt it.

I have an ECS x58B-A I got for $180 that's overclocked on air at 3.6GHz at 1.25Vcore (38C idle - max 71C Prime95 temps), and I use it more for programming and video editing than gaming, and I still haven't maximized my CPU usage. I agree, you don't need that fast an overclock. If you're looking for a good x58 motherboard and are okay with a 3.6 GHz 24/7 stable overclock, I'd recommend the ASRock x58 Extreme or the ECS x58B-A, both with will be around $160 - $180 at various places.

I'm just recommending if you want to pour your money into something, go for the EVGA Classified ($400) so you can brag about your overclocking benchmarks. Personally, I'm on the cheap side.
