ok first my friend has samsung lcd 19ich, and he has a his x1550, now for some reason his picture quality looks so much better them my setup, now the diff between our set ups is like night and day, my set up is Samsung T220HD http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer [...] 2TDNSUV/ZA
evga 9800gtx+ superclocked, now why the hell dose is picture look so much better and it's just not his it seems like ati even the cheap ass cards have better pic quailty then nvidia i really thinking of going back to ati, the last ati card i had was a 9600pro i just think that nvidia runs so much better.
With time spent setting up and calibrating there is no reason why you cant get the same, or a very very similar image on your own screen using the 9800.
Both companies ATI and Nvidia use different default settings for the cards and it would seem that you prefer the ATI settings.
Thats pretty much all it comes down to these days.
You haven't even told us in what way it looks better.
I have a Radeon ATI 1550 and I paid $11 AR. It displays a very nice desktop. Just as good as my 9800GT.
If you can find this on sale with rebate & FS, it's about $11. It's a great deal and worth bragging rights when someone throws their $300 9800GTX SC up against it at the desktop level.
One thing I notice about my Radeon 1550 is ATI could have discarded the 4 pixelpipelines and it still could render better than most fo my Intel onboard stuff.
the picture is so much more sharp and colors are vivid, other then the nice pic quailty the x1550 is crap. i run my desktop res at 1280-960 dam you ati that looser comes over to my house and makes fun of me and i just make fun of him by the fact that i can play any game and hes lucky is he can play half 2

Epic Phail. Your Monitors native resolution is 1608x1050. Change your desktop resolution to that and you'll notice a marked improvement.
It's true that there are slight differences in visual quality but only a few nitpicky people will be able to tell you what they are. What's easier to see are the application specific optimizations, but I myself hardly notice the difference. Make sure you're running your desktop resolution at your native resolution. Perhaps the one thing I like about CRT monitors is that you can lower the resolution without it looking all distorted, which is why I use CRTs on my less powerful systems. Darn things will burn your eyes out though, specially my old 19" NEC .
