i am running my p2 940 at around 1.248v reported by cpu-z. i have reduced voltage by 0.0050v in the bios. is it safe to run the proccy at lower volts ive tested it with prime 95 for 10 hours and everything is stable. and temps have been cut down by 4c under load.

what do you guys suggest?

Yes, it's safe. The only worry is that the CPU might not always work correctly while at the lower voltage. The CPU makers test each individual CPU on the production line and program in the lowest voltage value that should ensure that the CPU works according to specs.

I haven't gotten around to undervolting my Phenom II X4 940 yet as the GPU for that computer is currently in an RMA process so I'm not using it. My Phenom 9850 however is undervolted to 1.186 and is Prime95 stable at it's default clock speed of 2.5Ghz.

I've got an athlon X2 2.7 GHz undervolted by 0.1 V and runs great!
Go ahead, and if you get BSODs, set it at a higher stable voltage.
