Can anyone let me know if ASUS M479T Deluxe is a suitable motherboard for AMD Phenom II X3 720 BE ? Also do I require a separate graphics card for the motherboard and what will be the recommendations for this mobo/processor combination? Is this a good combination

Check asus website under "cpu support". It will list the bios version for your cpu. Some boards have to have the bios flashed with an older cpu before the board will post with the phenom 720. The graphics card depends on your budget and your power supply. Sometimes, you need to upgrade both the ps and card at the same time. I would list your budget for all 3 items. Is your board M4A79T deluxe? For your video card, the asus EN9600GSO/HDTP/384m for $54.99 at newegg may be all you need. It even comes with a $20 rebate and may work with any decent 500w ps.
