my old hardrive is my main i dont want to format it agian i was wondering if i could use it in my new mobo& CPU and still have my windows, video card, sound card and other programs installed

No you can't, you will have to buy a new license for windows. If the license you have now came with your PC, then it is an OEM, and cannot transfer to a new PC. At least its not supposed to be able to...I have heard that there is a way around this. I think if you buy an upgrade version of the OS you have you can do a repair install of the OS on a new mb using your old drive, its supposed to work, but I have no idea if this is true/accurate.

thank you for the comments the kid you have been a big help i will bring everything to my computer guy tom and my old dekptop and have put put my old parts and new parts together i wish i could do this myself but it seems too much hassle thanks a lot for helpfull comments bless you =)
