hello everyone im the same guy upgrading from my hp computer link here

i finally got my new mobo p5ql pro and cpu e8400
i was wondering if moving my old hardrive would require installing my windows agian??

Moving? As in shifting it to another bay? No. Changing the hard drive, yes.

my old hardrive is my main i dont want to format it agian i was wondering if i could use it in my new mobo& CPU and still have my windows, video card, sound card and other programs installed

No you can't, you will have to buy a new license for windows. If the license you have now came with your PC, then it is an OEM, and cannot transfer to a new PC. At least its not supposed to be able to...I have heard that there is a way around this. I think if you buy an upgrade version of the OS you have you can do a repair install of the OS on a new mb using your old drive, its supposed to work, but I have no idea if this is true/accurate.

thank you for the comments the kid you have been a big help i will bring everything to my computer guy tom and my old dekptop and have put put my old parts and new parts together i wish i could do this myself but it seems too much hassle thanks a lot for helpfull comments bless you =)
