If you get thermal paste on the pins of the motherboard, place the processor on it, then start up the comp. Will it cause the mobo or cpu to short out and/or fry? Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste.

Use a small, soft artist's brush with isopropyl alcohol. and very patiently and carefully try to remove as much of the thermal compound as you can.
