i am stuck between these two sets or RAM

CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

and the:

CORSAIR XMS3 12GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

will i notice a "huge" difference in getting the 12 gb kit instead of the 6gb? i have heard that 12gb of ram is useless..need some opinions

price is not a factor.

What will you be using the PC for ?

If it is for general tasks and especially gaming, then 6GB is the best option...
Go with 12GB only if you into video editing/ rendering, pro photoshop and other multimedia stuff...

And I would suggest these kits over that for that price... - All have tighter timings and as good as that Dominators...

If you were considering 4GB modules instead of 2GB ones, you could really let price not be a factor!

But actually, the specs on those are lousy.
Consider these:

If price doesn't matter - get 12GBs. Your computer will always find something to do with the extra RAM. Might not be that efficient, but why not be ready for Windows 8?

More is not necessarily 'better' - I'm currently running 8GB, and almost never see even half of it being used.

Only $1,199.00 for these - but heck, they throw in free shipping!

Kingston HyperX 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) XMP Desktop Memory Model KHX1600C9D3K3/12GX - Retail Intel XMP Ready(limit 100 per customer)

Think they get a lot of folks wanting more than 100?
