Have a question, I have an HP A6400F that originally had a E2200 Intel Processor which I replaced with an Intel E8400 3.0ghz CPU everything works fine and great notice of performance change but I think this motherboard is not allowing the full power not to mention I cant overclock so I wanted to get a new MB. Can I just boot up with the new MB and install drivers as I need to so I dont have to go out and buy another OS

Yes. No. Maybe. Don't do it.

Trying to save you the time, because those are the answers you will get.

If your new mobo uses the same chipset (unlikely), it'll probably work OK. There are guides around telling you how to do it for XP . . . try googling"new mobo old XP HD" and you'll get stuff like this:

My advice is buy the new OS - a student can get it for $19, OEM for $100 or so, and a purchase of Vista today gives a free upgrade to Win7.

You can try it. I have found that it works about half of the time. YMMV.
