I3 laptop over clock?

Can u overclock an i3 cpu in a laptop? or should i upgrade to an i5?

  1. we don't recommend overclock Laptop! no OC ! yes better idea upgrade your laptop to i5 or i7
  2. yer i figured this would be the case...just wanted to know if it was possible as the laptop runs very cool and i have a laptop cooling pad.. thanks will be buying a new laptop now anyway as i herd the graphics card may be the bigger issue

    The exterior may appear cool, but the CPU inside is running hot. Laptop manufacturers have already optimized the performance, and any attempts at overclocking will cause high heat and excessive heat (CPU) problems. This is why laptop CPU (or GPU) overclocking is not recommended.

    The laptop cooling pad is a good idea and continue using it.
  5. ^ On top of that it is likely your bios is locked making it impossible to overclock except through software, which is also not recommended.

  7. yer im not phased abo0ut batterylife,ok i see ..so could u recommend a good i5?...yer i like th 5650 but im not sure i can swap graphics cards..pretty sure i cant..
  8. sweet as...i just sore my mates laptop he has the 5741g and it has an i5 think its a 450 i cant remember but it show to benchmark the same as my i3 (well if the windows one actually works that is) 6.7.... i dont think the windows benchmark thing is so accurate as i upgraded from a 5400rpm to a 7200rpm and no points changed..
