Looking at some of the larger, push/pull capable CPU heatsinks for my upcoming build but I'm concerned the heatsink + fans will overlap some of the RAM slots (probably on the Asus Rampage III Formula).

Anyone have any pics or info regarding how big these heatsinks are compared to the board, etc?

I have the 212. Tall heatsinks will cause a problem. My G.skill DDR2-800 only has short normal ones so I didn't have any issues. What I did have issues with was my NB heatsink. The 212 was so big on my x38 board that I had to mod the NB sink to get it to fit. I'm not sure about the board you listed but if it has a tall sink as well you might want to consider it as well.

I have done so many rampage III builds and they have no issues with any coolers... I have installed a noctua NH D14 in one and mind you that thing is HUGE!!! I'm sure it would take any of the top coolers...

I'm a big fan of the 212+ but i have seen really mixed reviews/results with a i7 9XX when OC'd... If budget is restricting the choice of the cooler then go for Zalman CNPS10X Performa for $35... top notch and better performance than the 212+...

That the 212+ saint?

Budget is a small concern but originally I was looking at the H50/CoolIt blocks, etc. but for the last few days I've been getting more and more nervous about the water in the system.

I don't plan on doing a whole lot of OC'ing, maybe 3.06 to 3.36 or 3.6 or so, don't intend to go nuts and try and break 4.2 or something :)

Yeah, it's the Hyper 212+ with Crucial Ballistix Tracer RAM in the link. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148329&cm_re=crucial_ballistix_tracer_ddr3_1600-_-20-148-329-_-Product

For that overclock you don't need the high end coolers recommended above, Hyper 212+, Titan Fenrir, Tuniq Tower 120 extreme, Megahalems are enough for that overrclock with good temps.

Regarding the H50/H70, those are sealed LCS, so, you only can use it in your CPU without void the warranty, and in many cases air cooler performs pretty similar or better that both H50 and H70.

Been checkin out some info on the Corsair A50.
Ease of installation also factors in to my purchase plans and this fan looks very easy to install compared so some that I've been looking at.

How's the cooling performance on the A50, compared to some of the fans you mentioned?
