I plan on buying a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P soon. I already own an E8400 which I plan on OC'ing to 4.0Ghz ( 9x444 FSB ). This will tax my memory to function at a x2 multiplier resulting in a speed of 888Mhz.

What Im looking for is a decent Memory manufacture DDR2 800Mhz that can and will function solid at 888Mhz.

Id like to purchase a 2Gbx2 kit.

Looking for assistance, thank you kindly for any direction or help! I checked the compatibility list for the board, but a lot of whats listed is memory Ive never heard of. Im hoping to hear from someone in the same boat who has this board and possibly this chip.

Thanks again!

Actually maybe Im mistaken. Should I be purchasing DDR2 1066Mhz memory in order to hit 4.0Ghz?

What memory spread should I use to get it close to 1000Mhz? Anyone familar?

Thanks again.

Just me talking to myself some more ! Ive done searches, both here on with google. No luck.

with a 1:1 ratio, would a FSB of 444 be obtainable with 800Mhz memory?

Or should I invest in 1066 memory and go with a higher ratio. Again. Ill be purchasing a GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P.

Im more so leaning on a 1066Mhz memory so I can go:

9x444@DDR2 1066 with a 5/6 divider

Thinking: mushkin XP ASCENT w/ eVCI technology 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066

Sound good? Thanks

To be safe just get DDR2-1066 CL5. That way the ram will be guaranteed to run at 888mhz. It'll also allow you to overclock even higher if you choose. However, most ddr2-800 CL4 ram should run at 888mhz CL5 without problem too.

Thank you kindly for the reply, would I get more performance if I were to run it at 9x444 with a 5:6 memory divider to effectively run the memory at 1069Mhz rather then a 1:1 ratio resulting in a 888Mhz speed? ( With the 1066Mhz DDR2 CAS5 memory of course )

Just curious. Thanks ~

Can't speak on the last post, but I have a 2x2 set of G.Skill 6400CL5D-4GBPQ running at 942 which is 1:1 with my Q9550 at 4.0 Ghz....

Oh yea and this is all on my UD3P
