I am looking to build a new CPU. I am thinking about going for Intel Core 2 Duo series of processors. However, my primary concern is heat buildup. I am from India, where the thermometer can hit 42 degrees centigrade in summer (and I do not have air conditioning, so inside the house, temp will be around 35-36 degrees ). What would be my best choice, if I do want to go for Intel processor ? Please suggest an option.

Hey thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it.

Yes, I am looking to build a gaming PC. I wish to play pretty high end games on it... Crysis, Hellgate London, Bioshock and Far Cry 2 included...

My budget would be around 10-12 k for the Processor and Motherboard only...

Aftermarket cooler ... hmm... I have been thinking about it, what brand would you suggest ?

Thanks in advance...

I would suggest that with such a high ambient air temperature, that you do minimal overclocking. After market cooler is a very good idea.

The cooler that comes with the 45 nm (second generation) Core2's is about half the size as the ones that come with the 65 nm Core2's.

Coolers? What brands and models do you have available locally.

By the way, Hellgate London is terribly buggy. It's like Electronic Arts released a beta version.

@jsc ---> I do not plan to do any overclocking at all, frankly, I wouldn't dare to do it in this kind of heat, even in the presence of after market coolers...

As for CPU coolers, we have Thermaltek available here... is it good ? As for extra cooling fans, I was thinking about going for Arctic Cooling...

Yes, you are absolutely right. Hellgate London is pretty buggy, even with patches... I wouldn't purchase it... but I got it as a gift on my b'day :)

Thanks for the help...
