Hey guys- I just installed a new asus 9600 gso card along with a 500 watt power supply. The card is working fine except for the fan. Even while playing something pretty taxing, the fan does not spin. Not good. I have rivatuner, and used to use it to determine temps on my old 8600gt. Ever since I put in the new card, rivatuner does not display a temp for the card (says 0 degrees ), nor does rivatuner allow me to alter fan settings at all. The only other thing I can think of is an additional tiny cord that came with the card (I have no idea what it is for- the packaging does not say). I have downloaded both the latest version of rivatuner and the latest Nvidia driver. What now? Please help-- Thanks

One more thing- that tiny cord is an S/PDIF digital audio cable which maybe should be connected to the motherboard (no idea where). Would that even make a difference? Thanks, that heatsink is friggin hot right now...

I had a 250 watt stock psu which was not enough to run the gso (400 watt minimum). So I bought the new one.

On newegg.com, it's the ASUS EN9600 GSO for 69.99. What else do you want to know?
