deleted rhapsody and accidentally deleted media audio controller. What now?? Many thanks for any answers!

Hi Tigs....I coldnt tell you, its a rebuilt with lots of ooomph that i bought about 4 yrs ago and has never once failed me. My os is windows xp. tks....fifi
 
Well, not many clues here eh?

I have posted what comes next about a dozen times here, but it has "saved the day" twice this week. Might as well make it 3 times....



Go to device manager: Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device manger
Right-Click on the device that is now showing with a yellow exclamation mark in front of it.

Click the "Details" tab

Click the drop-down box and select "Hardware ID's"

Look at a sample picture below for what to look for...

go to http://pcidatabase.com/ and enter the numbers found in your hardware IDs of the device.

Put the VEN number in first and click search, to find out who made it. Then put in the DEV number to see what the thing is.

You will be taken to a page (after each search) that shows the devices that match your numbers. Look for the device that best describes your device and then search for drivers using Google based on your findings and post those numbers here if you don't find the drivers.
