My dell labtop turns on and off by itself

Hello,
my computer turns on and off by itself...and now that is off i try to started up again and it won't let me....it shows me a page with different choices...either start windows normally, safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, or last known good configuration ( your most recent settings that worked). But none of these options let me start my computer.

Please let me know in what I should do?

It looks like a safe mode screen, but is it really ? Try tapping F8 key to get safemode and see if you can proceed from there. If not, you could do a repair from Windows Installation CD. Otherwise you may have to get on a working Computer, and create a Rescue CD to boot from.

you get that menu when your computer shuts down abruptly (like when you loose power)

What happens if you select Safe Mode? Do you get any error messages?

When did this problem start? what did you do with your computer right before the problem presented itself?
