Command sequence error while writing DVDs

I get the "command sequence error" almost EVERYTIME i try to burn a dvd....
it just stops after about 3 or 5 % and then always show burn process failed...

and even when the rare times it does write a DVD, it takes at least AN HOUR for data about 4.5 GB....
am getting sick of this ***....
please help me out guys...
why does this happen?
how do i remove the problem?
how can i write dvds at normal time of about 10 minutes.... ? [i used to write dvds long before... and it didnt take more than 10 minutes at all...]

I use SONY 20x writer... compatible for dual layer too....

the dvds always become unreadable after i do this... i wasted about 10 dvds in the last week trying to write anything....

if i look closely on the reading side of the disc, i can see about 3 - 4 bands of data written... the bands have some space between them too.....

what do i do guys?
the batch of dvds is ok because i am able to burn them elsewhere... i just lose it at home...

please help me out!
