I want to install WoW onto my laptop and was wondering if putting it onto an external hard drive would help its performance to run as my laptop does not carry amazing specifications.
It is a Acer Aspire 5734Z with Intel Premium T4500, 4 GB DDR3 memory and 500 GB HDD.
Thankyou

The hard drive isn't going to affect the video performance like frame rate or anything, but it might lower your load times for entering new zones, that's about it. External hard drives are generally not any faster than laptop drives though, so unless you have an especially slow laptop drive, you probably won't notice a difference. Not to mention, even a fast external drive would have its performance capped by USB 2.0 speeds unless you use eSATA which AFAIK is not very common on laptops.

It wont. The USB2.0 is not as fast as normal SATA or RAID0 whichever you consider. So its best you do it through your HDD and not external HDD.
