Hey, im going to build my new pc which i will be using for gaming and other stuff, this is what i am planning to build, if anyone see's that there are major problems/conflicts please tell me!

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P
CPU: Intel E8500
RAM: Kingston DDR2 4 GB
GPU: Powercolor 1 GB ATI Radeon 4870
Case: Antec 900
PSU: Antec True Power 650 Watts
DVD Burner: Pioneer 217 Sata
HDD: Western Digital Cavier 500 GB
Keyboard: Logitech G15
Mouse: Logitech G9

The powercolor 4870 is $100 dollars cheaper than the other brands at msy and seems to be a good card.650 watts of power should be enough but i might be doing a Xfire later on.Please tell me if this build looks ok. Thanx

Yes you would have to get atleast a 750W to xfire the 4870 and still have little headroom for further upgrades
Change the RAM from Kingston...they are good for budget parts but are not high performance memory(Except the HyperX)
If possible get the WD Black 640 else get the WD Black 500...
Get the CPU cooler if you are gonna overclock(Which will certainly increase the overall performance and will give good value for the money spent on the CPU)

Yea thanx for that, i probly wont be crossfiring but ill have a look at 750 watt psu, is a 850 watt even better? also for the ram, if i do get a kingston ill get a hyperx and would it matter if it was 800 ram. Keep it coming guys! :)

for a single GPU, a 750w like the 750tx is enough for any card you can pick, even the most power consumptive ones out there. A 650tx would probably be enough for a while to come for any single Graphics card solution.

yea ill go with the 650 watt for now but do you guys think crossfiring the Powercolor 1 GB ATI Radeon 4870 when the price drops to under $200 AUS is worth it?

If you have no problems with sapphire this is a good choice for the price.

I have this it runs pretty cool quite and works like a champ. Just a mild suggestion go with what you want both theses cards are pretty much equals besides my suggestion, your build looks good. To my knowledge and don't quote me on this i believe that cooler also has the retention bracket so you don't have to mess around with push pins. Anyways good luck and have fun with your build.

You won't be able to xfire 4870's on the 650tx unless you get molex connectors, since it only has 2x6 pin PCIE connectors. I would get the 750tx if you plan on xfiring 4870's later down the road.
