ok so ever since I upgraded from windows xp to vista x64, ive had horrible performance in virtually all games. i decided to finally ask someone on here because i just took the CSS video stress test, and i averaged 42 fps. wtf :fou: and when i play css, i get even WORSE fps (from 10 to 30 fps atm) that is just an example though, i get less than 15fps average on crysis with all high settings, and i only have a 1280x1024 monitor (wtf again) even my old P4 desktop that i used to have got at the very LEAST, 60 fps constant on CSS. i have nod 32 installed, ive done probably 500 virus scans and theyve all came up clean. i also am running on CCC 9.3, and i have all the latest updates for windows. ive tried everything, please help me! :(

my pc specs:
phenom 9500
radeon hd 3870
6gb ddr2
600w PSU
Asus M3A
Vista Ult x64

If you just installed Vista, it takes time to index and set up your machine how it needs to. Other than that just make sure all your MB drivers are installed, mess around with different video drivers. I have no issues with Vista 64 and have had none for 18 months.

check all clocks. Is your PSU good quality? Check all cables/connections. And don't worry. I get pretty poor performance in CSS too. But I get 40+fps avg. on all high 1440 x 900 Crysis.

well the only thing i et to change is that my processor downclocks itself 50% from 2200mhz to 1100mhz when its not in use... but i dont think that could cause a problem (although im wrong most of the time XD)

For me, Vista64 is way faster than XP pro ever was.

I love Vista since the day I installed it. I only lost an average of 3-5fps in games compared to XP pro.
People who say Vista sucks, are just idiots who either cant configure it correctly, or have no experience with it.
I totally agree. I couldn't dream of going back to XP immediately after I installed Vista.
