I recently bought a P5n73-AM asus board, because of its PCI express x16 slot.

I also bought a 9600 GT OC, and it scored a 7400 under my PCI e 4x board. It scored the same on my P5n73-AM asus board, when I swapped everything.

Whats the deal ? Can PCI 1.0 handle the load of the 9600 gt with no bottlenecks ? How would a GTX perform on a 1.0 ?

Plz help me get the most of my money!!

If you mean a 3D Mark 06 score, 7400 is fine for the 9600GT.

Actually I forgot to mention its 3d mark 05!!

Regardless, why is my setup working the same under pci 2.0 as 1.0 ?

There is not much difference unless you switch to much higher resolution. That is where the higher bandwidth comes in use.

Yes, there is no difference in running a 2.0 card in a 2.0 slot or a 1.1 slot as of now.
