How do i register windows xo professional

Hello,

I cannot register XP pro on this 2nd hand laptop which was bought legitimately as it does not have the activate software menu item, even the microsoft website shows me no other way to do this without the activation prompt, any idea how to get this back on easily or how to 'fix' this erroneous report of it not being a legitimate software copy?

Call microsoft and give them your activation key. They will tell you if it's valid or not.
