Ok so basically I just have a couple questions if anyone can help me! .. I just bought a new rig off a website and had it sent to me .. im really into heavy gaming an mmos... Im playing Age of conan right now which is one of the better mmos graphic wise. im runing in a city im not gettin the exact fps i want lol..so Here is my build:

MOBO:asus M3A78-cm amd 780v/sb700 chipset w/integrated ati video, 8-channels gb lan, s-ata raid, usb 2.0 single pci-e mb
Video Card: ATI Radeon 4850 512mb
Amd dual core 6000+
4gb ram corsair ? lol
600 wat psu nvidia sli ready
350gb of mem
avc silent amd cpu fan and heatsink.
20.1" wide screen

Also im not to tech savy yet so lol im not quite sure what overclocking is. Well i should say how to do it i know it can cool down the cpu right and increase my fps?? lol and preformance.. any advice would be great .. im looking to spend maybe 400 to 500 extra on this .. i was maybe leading to a new vid card ? maybe radeon 4870 x2? i dont no exactly what is compatible with each other like as in mother board and the processor. So any advice like i said would be great thanks alot!
Also would maybe some more ram an just a 4870 1gb if that would be easier and cheaper and increase framrate?

First off you have a AMD Athlon64 Dual Core CPU right? The 6000+ model? Which means that its 3.1Ghz Dual core. If you overclock it, it could possibly shorten the life span of the actual CPU. You also won't notice a LARGE increase of FPS in games. The video card upgrade is a good idea, because i doubt that onboard graphics is very good for gaming. For your computer I think that the 4870 1GB card is a good idea.

1. Get a good cooler for the CPU, like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
2.a Push that CPU as far as you can, read this to learn how: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/phenom-overclock-at...
2.b (I recommend this) or buy a different processor, like this one and OC: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
3. for that resolution, You probably want at least a GTX 260 or 4870 1GB for your games to be smooth. I would suggest this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
or maybe this for even smoother graphics: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

If he is going to buy a new system he might as well try OC'ing the CPU and push it so he can get the most out of it. So what if it shortens the lifespan, maybe it will last 2 years with a large OC rather than 10. In a year that CPU will be considered rubish and any-self respecting gaming system will have a faster CPU, I doubt it will die on you before you are done with it.

What kind of PSU? You will need a pretty good one if you are going to OC and support an upper end video card.

Ok well i just made it i would like it to last at least a year?? um ive been reading on oc but still kinda trying to figure it out! i have a 600 wat psu but its very good quality. i figured i might as well go for the
radeon 4870 1gb and pray for the best lol .. all games run on high fps even age of conan just only when in the cities with oalot of players does it go down .. would i need a new mobo if i go from athlon 64 to a phenom II ? and is the mobo good for upgrading to the 4870 1g i figured so but better ask first ! also i have 4gb would uping it with another 2gb of ddr2 help the fps as well ? thanks for the help all
