Hey guys, this is going to be my first build, so I’m looking for some advice on my parts list to make sure everything is going to work and that I’m not going the wrong route with anything. I’ve taken apart my older computer so I’ve got a general knowledge of what I’m doing but I’m going to take it slow and easy. This computer will be for gaming and I’ll be playing at whatever resolution I can with everything maxed. My budget is going to be around 1400.00 USD give or take 100.00 depending on what my paycheck is this week.

This is what I’ve got so far, any criticism is welcomed constructive or not. As I said I’m new so I’m still learning a lot. Thanks in advance for any help or comments.

You're off to a good start, but there are a few changes I would suggest. I think it would be a good idea to find a way to ditch that MSI motherboard. Here's the build I would suggest, which is a mix of your parts and my suggested changes/upgrades.

I would have made a carbon copy of shortstuff's list, its excellent.

What resolution is your monitor? That affects what GPU you need to be able to play your games. And what games?

Thanks for the tips guys it's much appreciated. My current monitor is 1920 x 1080 that I'll be using and right now my games library is Far Cry 2, Crysis, Fallout 3, and Left 4 Dead. Library is still small because I just decided that I wanted to get into computer gaming as opposed to my ps3/xbox.
