Hello,

I've had a SAPPHIRE 100243-1GL Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express, for about 5 months now, and have been very pleased with it. However, It seems to be running hot. Not sure if it is because it is the summer time and it is warmer....

What is a suitable temperature for a graphics card like this?

How can I know what the temperature of my graphics card is? Is there a software program that will help me with this?

Thanks for any help.

GPUZ. Go into rivatuner and turn on the fan to 100% if you haven't already.

Thanks Psycho. I have downloaded riva tuner, but do not know how to turn the fan to 100% with it. Can you instruct?

It apparently needs it, because according to GPUZ my current temp is: 80.0C and the fan speed is 24%....

Thanks for your help so far.

actually, went into ati's catalyst control center, and was able to control the fan speed that way. Bumped it to 60%. (100% was super loud) GPU temps seem alot better. Playing wow, I'm about at 51 degrees c. Is that reasonable?
