Windows XP fails to see Hard Drives

Hello,
my XP machine fails to start up and goes to the black & white screen with:
"Start up normally"
"Start up from last...."
etc., but nothing works
Using the Windows XP disk it fails to see either drive!
But a disk copying utility sees both and successfully copied the system drive onto my spare drive.
HELP!!

Are those SATA drives? Most XP discs do not have SATA drivers, and you must use the F6 option to load a driver. Google XP SATA driver for more details.

If they are not SATA then please provide more details of your PC setup.
