Well if it were me ,, I would try the following,, 1 try to boot to either a cd/dvd or a floppy,if it works then the problem may be with the OS, OR ,,2, try the ram either in 2x1 or 2x2 format ,, see what you get..

thats the problem i dont even get throught the first screen when i press power button on my pc. i cant even access bios with the ram setting i installed. this motherboard is supposed to setup voltage itself and autodetect the ram sticks itself. that feature seems to not work. btw i havent seen any kind of ram with that amount of memory size run on 1.8v ram voltage settings. the problem its not the OS btw. its the whole booting process! from the very start before the OS loading phase. sometimes my pc just turns off itself and auto powering up and after that i freeze at boot screen (with the bios setup, boot menu, flash bio etc selections). this PC days ago had no problem booting up on 6 gb ram installed and now when i boot up it still bein an ass :S
From a quick google search, it looks like your ram spec voltage is 2.1V. Manually set it to this. You could even try 2.2V, since 4 sticks sometimes need more voltage to be stable.
well orangegator, thats has become a problem as well the GA-EP45-DS3L spec from vendors sites are showing something about ddr2 1066 mhz ram sticks wich 8500 is among them and its recommended to use sticks of voltage 1.8v? but these days sticks are most about 2.1V. wich it seems that my mobo is refuses to boot with a higher voltage settings. as many other ppl who have problems with getting 4 gb or more to work with their pcs its always more to change than the ram voltage. mch core is among them too
