Q6600 cpu

ive overclocked cpu to 4.05ghz but it will stay for awhile then it goes unstable. do i need water cooling?

  1. How could we possibly know if you need watercooling if you haven't even told us the temps. LOOOOL

    Unstable could be for many reasons. Ram running over rated speed, too much voltage, not enough voltage, etc.

    Can't tell you anything without knowing anything.
  2. The highest stable frequency I have ever heard someone reach with a Q6600 is 3.8 GHz.

    What kind of voltage are you running? Anything over 1.5 volts is too much.
