Hello,

I just received my computer with the 955 in it. Running HW monitor I'm seeing temps around 40C idle on all cores. Full load with Prime95 it stays at 57-58C. Is this a problem? It's not overclocked at all. I know that the max is 62C so I'm just wondering if I should be worried about getting close to that.

I also am planning on OCing it to at least 3.4 or 3.6 and it seems that it would probably go up over 62C if I did that.

Thanks for any info.

Thats normal for the stock cooler. Add an aftermarket cooler like a Xigmatek S1283 and you'll notice a large drop in temps. I went from idling in the low 50's to idling in the mid 30's when I added my Xigmatek. Max never even seems to get above 50 after running prime 95 for a few hours now. I have alot of headroom if I want to overclock but right now dont see the point since nothing short of video editing/encoding seems to come close to maxing out the processor...

Hmm I'll definitely check that out. I was wondering if Ocing it to 3.6 would maybe push the 62c mark. Seems to me it would but thanks.

edit: just ordered the Xigmatek. Thanks Adio. I should definitely be able to get it at least to 3.6 now.
