I know four SATA cables come with the Sabertooth board. Can anyone tell me if these cables are SATA 3 gbs or Sata 6?

Hello,

Unless you own very cheap SATA II cables (and those that come with the Sabertooth are not), you can use them in SATA III ports without any problem.
As far as I know, there is no difference between the more expensive SATA III cable sold in stores and the SATA II ones. It simply is a way manufacurers have found to make more money on the back of customers.

I hope this helped,

As people said, SATA II and SATAIII cables are the same. USB 2 and USB 3 cables are different, though.

Your answer is in the manual

http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1366/Sabertooth_...

Page 1-1 of the manual list the following as part of the package contents:

2 x Serial ATA 6 GB/s cables w/ 6 GB/s label
2 x Serial ATA 3 GB/s cable

If ya zoom in on the picture here, you'll notice that the SATA III cables are slightly different from the SATA II cables (white coloring) at connectors.
