I just bought a GA-p55-ud4p MB with a core i7-860. When I plug the power supply in and turn the power on, the power supply crowbars immediately.
I've tried powering up with everything removed, except the CPU, but the same result. I've powered up with the MB outside the case, but the same result. I've replaced the power supply, same issue. I've even replaced the MB and CPU. Same result.

Could be an issue with the motherboard... have you tried using the PSU on another computer? It may be time to RMA that mobo.
