P5ND freezing on startup

My system has been running fine for nearly a year now with no problems. Now when I start up the system it freezes at the ASUS welcome screen. If I press DEL at start up it freezes on the "Entering setup" screen. If I press TAB it freezes at the BIOS POST screen. Tried resetting CMOS a few times to no avail. Any ideas?

If you have more than 1 stick of memory, try switching them out to see if one is bad.
If you have access to another computer, download and burn iso Utlimate Boot CD disc. It has a number of diagnostic tools.

Ultimate Boot won't work. To make it work I need to set the BIOS to boot from the CD-ROM drive. Problem is I can't get to the BIOS to make that happen.

Did you reset the CMOS by changing the jumpers? If so, try unplugging and removing MB battery for a while.

Cool. Your suggestion worked for me. I had a power blow out. Replaced the power unit but the system kept freezing at startup/ASUS screen until I read your post. Thanks
