HP XW9400 Clock Speed Low

HP XW9400 with 2x dual-core Opteron 2216 with 6 gb RAM. CPU clock only running at 1 ghz (984 mhz). Unable to find a way to increase to full 2 ghz. BIOS does not include any clock setting capability.

Is there any way to achieve full clock speed?

What was the CPU's original speed? Also you could try changing the multiplier, or increasing the Front Side Bus (FSB) speed. YOu might have to downclock your RAM in order to do that.

CPU original speed is 2.2 ghz. The BIOS does not access the system clock settings; that's the problem. I cannot find a way to find a way to access any of the settings (clock, multiplier, etc.) to change them. Looking for suggestions on alternatives to BIOS access.

Are you sure its not a power saving feature and under load it goes to 2.2GHz

Yeah It could just be AMD's Cool and Quiet kickin in, in which case you fine and when it needs the extra horse power it will just clock it self up again. I would try running some CPU monitor then putting some load on your machine and seeing if the clock changes. Also through the BIOS you should be able to access the Front Side Bus clock.
