I am having a tough time controlling my mouse pointer in Gears of War. It seems laggy and imprecise. I cant tell if I'm lacking sys requirements (frame rate seems ok), have a poor mouse (tried adjusting the settings in CP & inside the game) or it's just the way the game plays. Would a gaming mouse help?
Snob, it plays Bioshock very nicely I'm sure kids starving (for entertainment) in Africa would love to have it LOL.
I guess that is the issue tho, I'll upgrade when I can afford it.
^ I don't see how I'm a snob, your system is ~4 years old in performance.
It would be the CPU which is causing the mouse lag as the CPU does all the PhysX.
and just to compare how poor your CPU is, a year or so ago AMD released a CPU called the 6400+ X2, the 6400 stands for the MHz needed on a P4 to equal it's performance. and the 6400+ is easily beaten by even the lowest performance of today's CPU's.
Thanx for the info but it should be a reality check that the great majority of the world cant afford a computer at all, let alone one with a 512mb PCIE graphics card that can play COD4 & Bioshock. With the amount of business systems out there too I bet mine is in the top 2% of computers that are in use overall.
Been a casual pc gamer since day one, I'm sick of upgrading tho, I think I'll just get an XBox! Or sheesh when is the remote processing thing coming?
as it was said before.... its your computer and specifically the CPU... no your computer is not in the top 2% used overall... more like in the bottom 30%... and yes go ahead and buy an xbox and play with the kids if your sick of upgrading (actually that system is not even a contender for upgrading, its would be cheaper to buy a computer from WALMART and put in a video card)
What bugs me is that the XBox hardware hasn't changed at all and yet the games still keep looking better and better. They may not compare to PC but at least I know the game will work without worrying about sys requirements.
Perhaps my computer is in the bottom 30%...of male pc users in the world's wealthiest nations who are between the ages of 13-25. Yes for a hardware forum my system sucks but go to the DMV, look at all of the people and then think about what percentage of them have a computer that will play Bioshock.
