Hello,

I need a new 1 Tb HDD for my computer. This will be used as a single drive unit for OS, games, music, movies.

My options are:

Seagate Barracuda 1TB, 7200rpm, 32MB
Samsung PMR Spinpoint F3 1TB, 7200 rpm, 32MB
Hitachi DESKSTAR 7K1000.C HSHDS721010CLA332 1TB, 7200rpm, 32MB
Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EALX, 1TB, 7200rpm, 32MB

I think the Spinpoint F3 is the best solution.

Please advise.

Regards.

The barracuda 7200.12s are quite good (I have a couple of the 500GB versions, but the Spinpoint F1s get very good reviews as well.

I have used or still have all of those. Dont get the Hitachi, it makes to much noise. I feel like the drive is failing all the time, but it's not since I have returned it several times in exchange for another. The Samsung is the best IMO then the WD Blue.
