hey guys i recently OC'd my CPU to 3.2GHz but it dxdiag says this: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.6GHz

why does it say 3.6GHz? stress test seems to get a max of 3.2GHz.

i overclocked with these settings:
FSB: 400
CPU ratio: 8
vcore: 1.35

ram timings:
5
5
5
15
2T

everything else i left on normal, everything seems stable.

Hello,

You must have Enhanced Intel SpeedStep® Technology enabled (the equivalent of the i7 Turbo Boost). This allows you to obtain more performance under load. DX-Diag must mesure the highest possible frequency obtainable by your CPU.

Hope this helped,

Yes the is no problem, as long as your computer doesn't freeze or reboots when the CPU is fully loaded. If that starts to happen, you can try increasing the Vcore a little bit. It should solve your problem. If it does not, simply disable this function.

Good luck,
