No it's not...

Let me tell you why

Use NCIX like I did, price match it and get a free shipping on all of your order once you buy a $10 gift card

Here is a good site to find cheaper parts: http://www.shopbot.ca

Use the bundle deals they have for example this one:

NCIX Gaming Bundle Deal Intel Core i7 920 CPU & ASUS P6T SLI & CrossFire Motherboard -UNASSEMBLED $619.99

Trust me you will save more if you use the price match method and the $10 giftcard for shipping.

If you need help building an i7 build in Canadian funds let me know :)

Sure I'd some help for a Canadian... I like the tip of buying the $10 card and then getting free shipping on the entire order. If we forget about price for a second, is that a good selection of components for a system or would you recommend some changes?

The parts are very semilar to mine...

Let's start with your budget and what you need a new pc for? Then we can change the parts.

My budget is about $1200 Canadian. I am not sure if that's realistic for an i7 build... I need a monitor too, but it would be outside of the budget. I do want a large monitor, hopefully 27inch or so..(any recommendations welcome) which might affect any vid card recommendations...

Things that matter to me:

-I don't want to upgrade often, so I would like a build that will last awhile
-I would like a lot of storage, at least 1tb, maybe 2
-Not much of a gamer, so don't need the tip top vid card setup
-doubt I would be overclocking, so I doubt I need a super cooling setup
-I would very much like a quiet case. I have a fairly small room and my current tower (under the desk) is uncomfortably loud.
-would like a blu ray burner but might be cost prohibitive at this point, guess I could always add later
-don't need speakers, keyboard, mouse
-need to buy from a Canadian supplier (newegg.ca, ncix, or other in Canada). shipping and duty related to US online purchases are tough.

any thoughts are welcome and appreciated!!!

I would suggest a 4850 , at the native res of a 27 inch monitor you may need more juice to drive even light to moderate games plus its a little more future proof , i only suggested the CM-690 because i own one , and it is quiet when setup correctly.
