Check the speed and other settings for Mouse in control Panel. If USB, select another Port.

Mine does the same and I found it was down to a cat hair over the lens. If you have an optical mouse - and a cat - you may have the same problem.

The problem appears to have cleared spontaneosly. I do have a cat an you probably are absolutely right.
