Can i5 cope at all with memory speeds which are higher than 1333MHz?
From the i5 specifications it looks that 1333MHz is the max for DDR3!
If this is correct what could be the reason to put memory with speed greater than 1333MHz?

Any memory over 1333 with the i5 is used with overclocking. Haven't seen any boards that say they run 1600 except with an "* O.C." next to it.

Benefits of any speed increase in memory at this level are minimal if they exist at all. Doesn't mean that folks don't feel they're seeing advantages. Some will always want to push the envelope.
