i bought a used PNY Verto 9600GT 650MHz core clock to run in SLI mode.
when i enable SLI in Nvidia CP and go to a game like gird my fps is lower than 20 FPS !!! on max 1680 ris (it will get 30+ FPS on single card )
i tried updating the drivers many times but it didnt work
i flashed the BIOS of the pny to make it same colck as the xfx but still the same
i flashed them both to the pny bios
and nvidia stupid massege showed up saying that i dont have engh power so my cards will downclock !!
Sounds to me like your PSU doth sucketh. In other words it can't sustain both cards even though it deceived you with it's "500W" rating. You flashing the BIOS like that may not have been a good idea of the XFX card uses a different PCB layout to achieve it's higher clocks. Oh well .

So yeah, get a good quality PSU (P&C, Corsair, Antec, FSP) and you should be fine, hopefully . First though I would do a clean install of Windows to be sure that it wasn't just a driver problem.
