Hello everyone, I was looking into going low-profile with my HSF. I am building an HTPC using a X4 940BE, ASUS M3A78-CM, 4870...These parts are being cannibalized from my current rig....I just want to run this rig at stock clocks and I want to keep it chilly. So, What is the best low-profile HSF for this application?

it all depends on your case clearance... if your case has a minimum width of 150mm (160+ better) you could consider Noctua NH-C12P SE14 (mind you its expensive at around $70)... Its one of the best if not the best low profile coolers out there...

If you wanna go budget then Scythe Big Shuriken is an excellent choice at around $35... really low profile like 70mm in height...

Both are whisper quiet at low and medium speeds...
