I am having trouble with my SD suddenly becoming semi unrecgonizable to my
iPAQ. This has happened with two different ipaqs, and two different SD
cards. It has data on it, but programs such as Pocket streets, or TR, won't
read the files stored on it. I tried reformatting it and reloading it from
my PC with a card reader, but it still doesn't work. I can see the data on
it with my PPC if I open up the file explorer...
What casues this?

try, at your own risk, increasing the contact pressure on the card.
sellotape will slightly increase the thickness and hence the pressure
to see if it is a physical slot issue.
