Nub 965 overclock

hey people I guess this is my first build ever and i wana game well. I guess my problem is I wana know does my motherboard matter that much for over clocking i currently got a A780L3G (was free) : http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0351634

I could get a instead A770E3: http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0349768 but thats an extra 10 bucks and really thats my max.

Do you guys think it would make a difference between these 2 boards? also im gona be running a 5870 and would like 2 oc it as well.

ohh btw i bought a hyper 212 + as a cpu cooler (does the type of thermal paste really mater for this?)

Not rly. The only difference is the chipset, 760G vs 770. I read them up, the only difference is the onboard graphics, which doesn't apply to you since you'll be using a 5870. Btw, I'm running a amd965 and a hyper 212 + too . The thermal paste it comes with is pretty decent, but I borrowed a artic silver 5 from a friend.

I'd not go with none of those, more if one comes with onboard GPU and you want overclock.
