Monitor stays in "Idle mode" during boot.

Hello, I've been having this problem for a while now.
When I boot my PC up I don't see anything on the screen until its in vista.
And sometimes the screen is still in idle even though it's in vista and I have to drag all cables in and out etc to get it working.
Now my question is.
What could be wrong?

8800GT
4gb ram
Q6600 clocked 2,7ghz
Corsair 750W
