Good day, i have just installed a PCI Express video card in my system, the card came with Molex to PCIE power connector. I had to use 2 of my Molex power connectors on this PCIE connector to power the video card. As such i am out of Molex connections for my DVD RW drive.
My question- is there a cable i can buy to convert a floppy disk power cable to SATA or Molex power connector?

Solution
Yes, its exactly the same as a 'normal' molex, black or two middle cables is ground, red is 5v and yellow is 12v
and obviously it will have enough power for a dvd drive, I would put http://www.directron.com/passthru.html on it and run another plug, just in case you find anything else to power from that line in future, although you will also need a molex-sata adaptor, don't just wire the cables to the sata one, its fiddly

Thanks for that link, what if i cut the floppy disk power connector and connect to a SATA connector tip that i have?
Is the floppy power line strong enough to run a DVD RW drive?
