My PC Won't Shut Down!

When I click on the power button (and yes I've changed it from Sleep to Shut Down in the power options) it will shut off, but then restarts about 5 seconds after.

I have an Asus P6t Deluxe V2 and have looked at all their support. The only thing I've read is there's a faulty IDE cable, and to change the IDE settings in the BIOS to raid. But when i do that it crashes and restarts before it goes to Windows.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great!

I've had some other suggestions of unplugging USB drives/LAN cables and nothing seems to be working.

The thing that gets me is when I hold the power button down on my PC, Windows shuts down in the same way...but stays off.

So confused and frustrated

AH HA!

Found out how to reset the CMOS using a jump on the mother board and that did the trick.

Any ideas what would have caused all that so I avoid doing that again?

I was doing some things with overclocking but it never shut down or restarted on me and never caused any damage, so why would it do this?
