Cox Cable Speed

Both my friend and I have Cox High-Speed Internet. When I'm at his house I get download speed at about 2.3MB/S and when at my house I get about 1.1MB/s. We live about 2 blocks away. Am I doing anything wrong?

Are you on the same branch of the cable?
Try a tracert command to a common website and compare the results from each location.

You might try one of the free utilities to adjust your internet settings in the registry and gain some speed.

Downloaded Cable Nut and adjusted the registry. Didn't help at all.
