I just purchased a WD 500gb 7200rpm hdd to replace my old WD 80g 5400rpm as it does not have enough room for my needs and low speed for loading times. My problem is i instally the new harddrive which windows and my bios recognizes it and installed drivers but, i cannot access the drive to format/partition it. Also how can i transfer windows and all my files and whatnot to the new drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

WD has a free version of Acronis True Image WD Edition here:

After you complete the "clone" task, you'll need to re-boot
into the BIOS and change the Boot Priority to your new 500 GB HDD.

We've used this software several times, and it's excellent.

I downloaded and used Acronis as you suggested and its really easy to use and worked perfectly! now my system boots up much faster (along with load times in games) and i have plenty of space for my movie/tv downloads. Thank so much!
