How to reinstall windows xp explorer

Hello,
How can I install a fresh copy of my windows explorer which subject to a longstanding runtime error 217 and other headache such as "unknown software exception at 0x0eedfade" crap. It's been a real pain in the a.. for sometime now. Thanx for the help.

Do you have Windows CD to boot reom - Do Repair Option ?

Agree! Use/Get a Win xp CD !

But try replacing the file...
Make it to boot first from the bios, then go to recovery console (R key).
Select instalation, press enter if you don't have a password.
First , you have to backup your original Explorer.exe file.
Type cd C:\ press enter
cd Windows press enter
ren Explorer.exe Explorer.old
Then you have to use the expand command to extract the Explorer.exe from the Win xp CD
(somewhere in your 1386 cd directory, can't remember right now exactlly...)Then you have to copy it to the C:\Windows directory, by:

copy YOUR_FILE_LOCATION C:\Windows
