I am upgrading my motherboard, and was wondering whether or not to buy the new i7-compatible boards or simply one that supports my current Q6600 Quad. Would the performance increase be dramatic enough (Q6600->2.66ghz i7 Quad) to warrant spending the extra $250 for the new processor, or should I just keep my current one? Thanks!

Don't get the i7 yet, Intel is making new i7s with different sockets, so if you want to get the i7 wait a few months and cope with ur setup now, or else get a cheap C2Q.
