Does the intel rapid storage driver actually restore TRIM to an array of SSDs?

Mabie some of you have already used it.
Mabie you could post some before/after benchmarks? ... that might be too much to ask.

Does it have any drawbacks/limitations?

I've got Win7Pro, a P6X58D-E and an i7-930, would I be able to use it?

... I am thinking that this driver will eliminate the need to have a segment of your SSD reserved as spare area, restoring performance to SSDs in Raid while maximizing usable space. ... sounds almost too good to be true.

The Intel drives does pass TRIM through to an SSD if the storage controller is in RAID mode, but only if the SSD itself is a single drive and not part of a multi-volume RAID set.
